23rd Göcek Spring Race Week Şarık Tara – Youth and Sports Cup Races Completed

The spring sailing race week, organized by the Göcek Yacht Club every year in May, was held in Fethiye Bay this year between 15-19 May 2023. During the race week, which was held with the participation of a total of 69 boats, 528 sailors from 19 countries completed the races organized in 6 different groups.

Boats competed in 7 different divisions as IRC 1, IRC 2, IRC 3, IRC 4, IRC CHARTER 1, IRC CHARTER 2 and IRC CHARTER 3.
After the registrations were completed on Monday, May 15, 2023, the race week started with the Opening Cocktail organized by Göcek D-Resort. In the ceremonies held at the end of a total of 6 races held in four days, the winners of the day races and the teams that placed in the top 3 places in the Overall were given their awards.

- IRC Group 1 Winner Team – 1925
- IRC Group 2 Winning Team – Courrier du Coeur
- IRC 3 Group Winning Team – Space Jockey
- IRC Group 4 Winning Team - Enchantment of Sakhalin
- IRC Charter 1 Group Winning Team - Imagine
- IRC Charter 2 Group Winning Team – Northberry Blu
- IRC Charter 3 Group Winning Team – Orion
The boats participating in the race were hosted by D-Marin Göcek Marina, which is the main sponsor this year, as every year.
Enka Holding, known for its contribution to sailing for many years and supporting the sailing races organized by Göcek Yacht Club, also sponsored the race organized in the name of Şarık Tara and presented the Şarık TARA Special Cup to the Tora KUTOĞLU team with the 1925 boat that had the best time in the IRC Groups.
A day cup was given to the racers for a race organized in the name of Servet Confectionery, one of our local supporters.
The teams participating in the 23rd Göcek Spring Race Week also attended the ceremony held in Göcek Square on May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. On behalf of the Chamber of Shipping – Youth and Sports Cup, which supported our race held on the same day, a day cup was given to the racers.
Göcek Spring Race Week was completed with success, thanks to the races growing with more and more participants every year, and local supporters and sponsors who contributed greatly to the Göcek Yacht Club.
The 21st Göcek Autumn Race Week, which will be held in November this year, will be held between 06-10 November 2023.
