Göcek Yacht Club
Our club was established on January 4, 1999 in order to develop sailing in the surrounding districts and villages, to increase the interest in this sport and to provide sailing training to children and young people.
The purposes of Göcek Yacht Club Sports Association include;
- Sharing our passion for the sea with children in our region,
- To help and guide their physical and mental development,
- To carry out activities that will ensure that the maritime culture is kept alive and passed on to future generations,
- To train sailors who can represent our country.
In summary, to spread sailing culture which is accessible to a small number of young people in our country, to provide training in this field and to ensure that these trainings reach especially young people and children who are in economic insufficiency.
Apart from the trainings our club provides to young people, we also organise sailing races. Currently we hold 4 annual races and have organised 38 races since the club’s establishment in 1999. Our two main and most popular annual races are ‘Spring Race Week’ and ‘Autumn Race Week’.

Göcek Yacht Club has been continuing the Sailing School programs organized for children and young people during the summer holidays without interruption for years. As of 2021, Göcek Yacht Club inventory includes;

Sailing School, held under the supervision of professional sailing instructors, has provided sailing training for nearly 600 children and young people up to now. Göcek Yacht Club raises children and young people who are successful in sailing training and want to continue this sport at a professional level as licensed athletes. After the trainings held only in the summer of 2020, 30 of our young people, who were trained under the roof of GYC, decided to continue sailing as licensed athletes of the Göcek Yacht Club.
With your support, another child can sail to blue waters.
